Why Trademark Exists

If you've found your way to this page, chances are you're looking for answers.

Maybe you've been dealing with pain for weeks, or maybe it's been years.

Maybe you've tried stretches you found online, medications, massage, physical therapy, chiropractic care, or simply waiting for it to go away.

Or maybe you're not even in pain. Maybe you're an athlete trying to stay healthy through a long season. A parent trying to keep up with your kids. Someone who wants to continue hiking, lifting, golfing, gardening, traveling, or simply moving well for the decades to come.

No matter what brought you here, this is what we want you to know.

Trademark Chiropractic wasn't built because we wanted to own a business or because we thought healthcare was broken. It was built because we believe that patients deserve MORE.

That belief is the reason Trademark exists.

After working in several different clinics, we knew patients deserved something different. We saw what happened when appointments were short just to get to the next person in line. We saw patients leave without fully understanding what was going on. We saw treatment plans become routine and “cookie cutter” from person to person. We experienced the frustration of knowing there was more we could do for someone, but we were limited by someone else's business model, treatment philosophy, or insurance requirements. We knew there had to be a better way. So we built the clinic we always wished existed. A clinic where every clinical decision could be made for one reason:

Because it was the right decision for the patient sitting in front of us.

The Clinic We Always Wished Existed

Before opening Trademark, my wife Melanie and I had the opportunity to work in several different chiropractic clinics. We're genuinely thankful for those experiences because they shaped us into the clinicians we are today.

We learned from talented doctors, treated thousands of patients and invested hundreds of hours into continuing education to refine our skills. Ultimately, those experiences also taught us what we wanted our own clinic to become.

Sometimes we knew exactly what could help someone, but because a particular treatment wasn't offered or wasn't covered, part of the plan that could have made a real difference simply wasn't available. That's why we built a clinic with multiple treatment options under one roof, allowing us to choose the modality that best fits each patient rather than forcing every patient into the same approach.

Not being able to deliver a treatment because of outside influence never sat well with us. Not because we believed we had all the answers, but because we never wanted someone to leave our office wondering if there was more we could have done.

We know we'll occasionally miss the mark, but we never want to miss because we weren't willing, able, or allowed to do what was necessary. Healthcare shouldn't feel like checking boxes, it should feel like a partnership that is solving problems. That's why we chose a membership model for Trademark. It aligns our success with our patients' long-term health, not with how many individual visits we can see.

The membership model eliminates barriers that make people wait until they’re in significant pain before coming in. A membership encourages consistency, proactive care, better outcomes over time and significantly reduces overall costs to receiving care. It also makes costs predictable and gives us an opportunity to build lasting relationships focused on prevention, performance, recovery, and overall well-being.

Building Resilience Instead of Chasing Pain

Pain is often what brings someone into our office, but that isn't what keeps them here. As patients begin improving, the conversation changes from "How do I get rid of this pain?" to "How do I keep this from coming back?".

That's where real long lasting progress begins. Our goal has never been to make people dependent on us, it is and always will be to help people become more resilient. We want to help them tolerate MORE of life and be able to move with more confidence, understand their bodies better, recover more effectively and know what habits support their long-term health.

Resilience has a few definitions:

  • The ability to adapt, recover, and grow in the face of adversity, trauma, or significant stress.

  • The body's ability to adapt to physiological stressors, injuries, or illnesses and return to a state of homeostasis.

It’s not about avoiding struggles, but about developing the mental, physical and behavioral flexibility to bounce back and maintain well-being when life presents challenges. That's our goal for all of our patients and why it's our last phase of care in our office.

One of my favorite moments during an appointment isn't when someone tells me they feel better. It's when they stop and tell me they did the exercise or stretch we recommended and they managed their problem on their own. Because, in that moment, something changes. They stop feeling like their body is working against them and they start understanding what it has been asking them to do. That's one of the most rewarding parts of what we do. Education isn't separate from treatment, it's an integral part of it. The more someone understands their body and its needs, the better decisions they make between visits. Those decisions determine long-term success far more than anything we do inside the clinic.

More Than a Name

People ask us about the name Trademark all the time.

The truth is, it started with a joke. Similarly this is also how we named our first dog “Chira” like Chira-practic.  My name is Taylor and my wife's name is Melanie. So when you combine those we got TM. We originally thought TM Chiropractic sounded good. The more we said it out loud we realized people would assume it was the shorthand for “Trademark” . Then we started thinking about what that word actually meant and started to love it. It's personal and yours,  there's only one and no one can take it from you. We felt like that was the essence of what we wanted our practice to be. Uniquely personal. Eventually, we developed a slogan that we thought was catchy.

"Your health is our trademark."

At first, it was just that, a slogan. Over time, it became our standard. To us, it means our reputation would never be built on advertising, social media or on how many patients we see. Our reputation would be built on the lives our patients are able to live because they trusted us with their care. The best business card we'll ever have isn't a logo, billboard or website. It's a patient living life to their fullest because of the work we did together. The biggest compliment we get is when our patients refer others to us because of the CARE we give, not just because of the services we offer.

Looking Forward

We don't know exactly what Trademark will look like ten years from now. We hope our team grows. We hope the services we provide continue to expand. We hope we become a place where movement, recovery, education, and great long term patient outcomes come together under one roof. No matter how much Trademark changes, one thing won't change and that's our philosophy.

We'll continue to put the patient first. If someone asks about Trademark five years from now, we don't hope the answer is simply "They're good chiropractors". We hope it's something much more meaningful. We hope they speak about the things we helped them be able to do in their lives. We hope they speak about how they were able to go on their trip overseas and hike with their kids. We hope they speak about the people they referred to us and got great results. If that's what people say about us, that’s when we will know  we've accomplished what we set out to build. Not because we've built a successful clinic but because we've earned something far more valuable.

Trust.

At the end of the day, we don't want to be known for the number of patients we've treated, but for the lives our patients were able to keep living.

That is our Trademark
